The Foodie Kitchen is a seed oil free recipe blog and cookbook series by Savannah Ryan. Every recipe on this site — from Nigerian jollof rice to Scottish shortbread — is cooked in butter, ghee, beef tallow, lard, coconut oil, or extra virgin olive oil. No vegetable oil. No canola. No industrial seed oils anywhere.

About Savannah Ryan

Savannah Ryan is the author of 23 seed oil free cookbooks covering global cuisine. Her Savor series spans Africa, India, Asia, Hawaii, the Mediterranean, and beyond — each title built on the principle that every great food culture developed its cuisine using ancestral fats, and that the industrial seed oil substitution of the 20th century changed those cuisines for the worse. Her books restore the original.

The Mission

The Foodie Kitchen exists to answer one question: what do you cook when you eliminate seed oils from your diet? The answer turns out to be everything — every global cuisine has an ancestral fat tradition. This site documents those traditions, recipe by recipe, across more than 140 published posts.

  • MAHA Kitchen Garden — 9 growing guides for the seed oil free kitchen garden

What Is MAHA?

MAHA — Make America Healthy Again — is a food and health movement that argues the chronic disease epidemic is linked to the industrialisation of the food supply, particularly the replacement of ancestral fats with industrial seed oils. The Foodie Kitchen applies MAHA principles to global cuisine: every dish from every tradition, cooked in the fat it was originally built on.
